Introduction:
During meditation this morning, I asked Source a quiet question:
How do I walk barefoot on the grass without stepping on stickers?
That simple question opened a door to something deeperâsomething about resistance, intuition, and the way weâve become disconnected from ourselves. What followed was a memory and a message that took me right to the banks of Mark Twainâs timeless wisdom.
The River and the Cost of Knowing
In âTwo Ways of Seeing a River,â Twain reflects on how his love for the river faded once he became a pilot. What once shimmered with beauty became a map of dangers. His trained eyes no longer saw magicâthey saw measurements.
And I realized: weâve all done this.
Weâve traded wonder for analysis, intuition for efficiency. We learn how to navigate life⌠but we forget how to feel it.
When Resistance Becomes the Norm
We live in a world that praises resilience, but rarely reverence. We monitor our bodies, medicate our symptoms, manage our stress. But do we ever truly listen?
Abraham-Hicks teaches that resistance is the gap between who we are and who weâve become through doubt. Itâs not something outside of usâitâs the disconnection within.
Gut health isnât just about probiotics or prebioticsâitâs about presence. That space in your belly is where your wisdom lives. And when you stop listening, it stops glowing.

The Gut Knows the Way
So what if we slowed down?
What if we honored the ache, blessed the pause, savored the silence?
The gut speaks in quiet nudges, in cravings for calm, in discomfort that calls for change. It doesn't need to be fixed. It needs to be followed.
Twain wondered if jadedness is the cost of experience. I wonder: what if experience becomes richer when we return to stillness?
A Path Back to Radiance
Maybe the stickers on the path are there to help us walk more mindfully. Maybe discomfort is part of becoming. Maybe the point isn't to avoid the painâbut to walk with care, with consciousness, and with joy.
Our bodies hold ancient knowledge. Our intuition is not lost. It's simply waiting for us to come home.
So today, I walk barefootâon grass, with stickers, and with reverence. Maybe the stinging stickers are medicinal, healing in ways known only to our ancestors. I don't know, but intuition calls me to do it, to remember the ephemeral.
Because even the sting is sacred when it brings you back to yourself.
